Easter Sugar Cookies

Delicious and colorful sugar cookies, perfect for celebrating Easter with family and friends.

  • 2 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Colored icing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients: whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  5. Combine the dry and wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough wrapped in plastic wrap for about 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thickness and cut into shapes.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before decorating.
  10. Beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  11. Add powdered sugar gradually until fluffy and spreadable.
  12. Frost cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles and colored icing.

Notes

Feel free to customize with chocolate chips, lemon zest, or nuts for added flavor!
