Honey Garlic Chicken with Green Beans

A sweet and savory dish featuring tender chicken in a honey-garlic sauce, paired with crisp green beans.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep the ingredients: Gather all ingredients, wash and trim green beans, and mince garlic.
  2. Heat the pan: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Season the chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  4. Sear the chicken: Cook chicken in the skillet for 5-6 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Make the sauce: Remove chicken, sauté garlic in the same skillet for 30 seconds.
  6. Add honey and soy sauce: Stir in honey and soy sauce, and let bubble for 1 minute.
  7. Toss in the green beans: Add green beans and stir in sauce for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  8. Combine everything: Return the chicken to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  9. Serve it up: Serve over cooked rice with remaining sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

For a spicy twist, add red pepper flakes to the sauce. Can swap green beans with broccoli or snap peas.
