Sausage and Cabbage Stir Fry

A cozy and flavorful sausage and cabbage stir fry that brings warmth and joy to your weeknight dinners.

  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, carrots, any preferred vegetables

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the sausage, chopping the cabbage, slicing the onion, and mincing the garlic.
  2. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the olive oil and let it heat up.
  3. Sauté the sliced sausage for about 5-7 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic, stirring for 2-3 minutes until the onions are translucent.
  5. Toss in the chopped cabbage and stir to coat with oil and flavors.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. If using, add carrots or other vegetables now and cook for about 5 minutes until the cabbage wilts but retains some crunch.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding soy sauce if desired.
  8. Serve the stir fry in bowls, optionally topped with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon or lime.

Notes

Feel free to customize by adding any leftover vegetables you have on hand.
