Classic Cherry Pie

A nostalgic cherry pie recipe filled with sweet and tart flavors, topped with a flaky crust. Perfect for summer gatherings!

  • 4 cups Fresh Cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Rinse the cherries under cool water, remove stems, and pit them.
  3. Sprinkle sugar and lemon juice over the cherries and add almond extract. Toss gently and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to create a slurry, then add to the cherry mixture.
  5. Prepare the pie crust by rolling it out in a pie dish.
  6. Pour the cherry filling into the crust and dot with butter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until crust is golden brown.
  8. Cool for at least 2 hours before slicing.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
