The Ultimate BLT Pita Wrap

A flavorful and simple twist on the classic BLT, this BLT Pita Wrap combines crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomatoes wrapped in soft pita bread for a delightful meal.

  • 4 strips of crispy bacon
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 2 pita breads
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Sliced avocado

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat and lay the bacon strips in a single layer. Fry until crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess grease.
  2. Prepare the Pita: Toast pita breads in a toaster or warm them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  3. Slice and Dice the Veggies: Slice the tomato into thick rounds and shred the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. If using avocado, slice it now.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard.
  5. Assemble Your Wrap: Open the warmed pita and spread the mayo-Dijon sauce inside. Layer in the lettuce, tomato, bacon, and avocado if using, then season with salt and pepper.
  6. Time to Roll: Fold the pita gently but firmly to keep everything snug. Optionally wrap in parchment for a picnic.
