Classic Broccoli Salad

A vibrant bowl of crunchy broccoli, crumbled bacon, sweet-tart raisins, and a creamy dressing, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the broccoli by rinsing and chopping it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet until golden and crispy; crumble it once cool.
  3. Dice the red onion and soak in cold water if desired to mellow flavor.
  4. Combine broccoli, crumbled bacon, onion, raisins, and sunflower seeds in a large bowl.
  5. Make the dressing by mixing mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Mix the dressing into the broccoli mixture until well-coated.
  7. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Can be made ahead of time; just keep dressing separate until serving to retain crunch.
