Cajun Steak Tips with Penne in Creamy Parmesan Cheese Sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (for flavor)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Penne: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add penne, cook until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Prepare the Steak Tips: Season steak tips with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add steak in a single layer. Sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
  4. Sauté the Garlic: Reduce heat to medium, melt butter, add minced garlic, stir for 30 seconds.
  5. Make the Creamy Sauce: Add heavy cream and whole milk, whisk in cream cheese, simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Incorporate the Cheeses: Stir in grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella, adjust thickness with reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Combine Everything: Mix in penne and steak tips, sprinkle with Cajun seasoning.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, top with chopped parsley.

Notes

This dish is best served hot with a drizzle of olive oil or fresh lemon juice for added flavor.
