Corn Fritters

Deliciously crispy and golden corn fritters, perfect for a summer snack or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweet corn (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Start by measuring out your ingredients.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: In the same bowl, crack that egg and pour in the milk, followed by the sweet corn.
  4. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or frying pan, pour in enough oil to cover the bottom (about 1/4 inch deep).
  5. Fry the Fritters: Using a spoon, scoop about 2 tablespoons of batter into the hot oil for each fritter.
  6. Drain and Serve: Once golden and cooked through, carefully transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels.
  7. Repeat: Keep repeating the frying process until all the batter is used up.

Notes

These fritters can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven. They are great for meal prep or entertaining guests!
