Garlic Steak Tortellini

A comforting dish filled with tender steak, cheese tortellini, and a rich garlic cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Tortellini: Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes until they float. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sear the Steak: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add the sliced steak and season with salt and pepper. Sear for 2-3 minutes without moving, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes until done. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Build the Sauce: Pour in the beef broth and scrape up the brown bits from the pan. Bring to a simmer, then stir in heavy cream and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes to thicken.
  5. Combine Everything: Add cooked tortellini and steak back into the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce and mix in the grated Parmesan until melted.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped parsley on top before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap heavy cream for half-and-half or coconut milk. Add vegetables for an extra boost!
