Lemon Tiramisu

A refreshing and creamy Italian dessert with a zesty lemon twist, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 package (200–250g) ladyfinger cookies (Savoiardi)
  • Extra lemon zest or candied lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the Lemon Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine water, lemon juice, and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. Let cool completely before using.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, whip cold heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
  3. Mix the Mascarpone: In another bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine Cream and Mascarpone: Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture carefully.
  5. Assemble the Layers: Dunk each ladyfinger in the cooled lemon syrup for a second and layer in a serving dish. Spread a layer of mascarpone mixture over it and repeat.
  6. Chill and Set: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. Garnish and Serve: When ready, sprinkle extra lemon zest on top or add candied lemon slices before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the dessert chill overnight. Feel free to customize by adding berries or infusing the lemon syrup with fresh herbs.
