Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

A delicious blend of warm apples and maple syrup, these blondies are a sweet autumn treat perfect for cozy evenings.

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  4. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in the dry ingredients gradually until just combined.
  7. Tackle the apples by sautéing them in a skillet with butter and brown sugar until tender.
  8. Fold the sautéed apples into the blondie batter.
  9. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Cool the blondies in the pan for about 15 minutes.
  12. Prepare the maple glaze by mixing powdered sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  13. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled blondies and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Notes

For variations, add nuts, dried fruits, or chocolate chips as desired.
