Cream Cheese-Filled Banana Bread

A delightful twist on classic banana bread, filled with a creamy cream cheese surprise.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the melted butter until combined.
  4. Combine the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  6. Incorporate the all-purpose flour gently.
  7. Prepare the cream cheese filling by beating together cream cheese and powdered sugar.
  8. Combine the batters into a greased loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or honey. This bread is also great topped with fresh berries or whipped cream.
