Easy Homemade Apple Cobbler

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice your apples, then toss them with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.
  3. Let the apple mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  5. Create a well in the center and pour in melted butter and buttermilk.
  6. Stir until just combined, making sure to leave some lumps.
  7. Pour the apple filling into a greased baking dish and spoon the topping over it.
  8. Pop the dish into the oven and let it bake for about 35-40 minutes.
  9. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
