  • 56 medium fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk (whole or 2%, or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Let the peaches sit for about 10 minutes to release juices.
  4. Whisk together 1 cup of flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Add cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  7. Pour the peaches into a greased baking dish and dollop biscuit dough on top.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
