  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled sausage or bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Chopped herbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients: whisk together milk, melted butter, and eggs in a separate bowl.
  4. Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients, folding gently until just combined.
  5. Add in the cooked sausage (or bacon), shredded cheese, and chopped herbs (if using).
  6. Shape the dough into a rectangle about 1-inch thick, and cut into squares or triangles.
  7. Bake for about 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Dig in and enjoy warm!
