Mouthwatering Mediterranean Chicken Wraps

Delicious Mediterranean chicken wraps with tender marinated chicken, fresh veggies, and tzatziki sauce, perfect for a quick meal.

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pita breads
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, making sure they’re well coated. Cover and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Preheat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the marinated chicken on the pan. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  3. Rest and Slice: Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. After resting, slice it into strips.
  4. Prepare the Wraps: Warm up the pita bread in a separate pan for about 1 minute on each side.
  5. Assemble Your Wrap: Place a generous amount of shredded romaine in the center of each pita, followed by the sliced cucumber, red onion, and a handful of the sliced chicken. Drizzle tzatziki sauce on top and sprinkle chopped parsley.

Notes

Marinating the chicken overnight deepens the flavors. If you’re in a rush, even 15 minutes will still make a difference.
