Easy Peruvian Chicken

A flavorful Peruvian chicken dish that’s juicy and tender, marinated in zesty green salsa and spices. Perfect for weeknights or dinner parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup green salsa
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix together the green salsa, olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or shallow dish, and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, and sear the marinated chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the chicken for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

Notes

This recipe is flexible; you can adjust spices and try variations like adding jalapeños for heat or citrus for freshness.
