Salisbury Steak Meatballs with Garlic Herb Mashed Potatoes

Juicy Salisbury steak meatballs simmered in gravy, paired with creamy garlic herb mashed potatoes for a comforting weeknight dinner.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 lbs Potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Herbs, chopped (such as parsley and chives)
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs (about 12-15).
  4. Bake on a lined baking sheet for around 20 minutes.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan and whisk in flour. Gradually add beef broth and soy sauce, simmering until thickened.
  6. Add meatballs to gravy, coating them well.
  7. Boil salted water and cook potatoes until fork-tender (15-20 minutes).
  8. Drain and return potatoes to pot. Mash with butter, milk, and herbs. Season to taste.
  9. Serve meatballs over mashed potatoes, garnished with herbs.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different herbs and variations such as Italian seasoning or adding mushrooms to the gravy.
