Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream

A delightful and refreshing homemade strawberry ice cream that’s easy to make and much better than store-bought.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries by washing and chopping them into quarters.
  2. Sweeten the berries by tossing them with 1/4 cup of sugar and letting them sit for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Blend until smooth, transferring strawberries and juices into a blender.
  4. Mix the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl.
  5. Combine the strawberry puree into the milk mixture, stirring until smooth.
  6. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  7. Churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions, about 20-30 minutes.
  8. Serve and enjoy your homemade strawberry ice cream!

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream and whole milk with coconut milk and almond milk respectively.
