Strawberry Pie

A delightful summer pie filled with fresh strawberries and topped with whipped cream.

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients and preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Hull and slice the strawberries: Rinse your strawberries under cool water, hull them, and slice them in half.
  3. Combine strawberries and sugar: In a mixing bowl, gently toss the strawberry halves with the sugar and let sit for about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Make the filling: Add the cornstarch and lemon juice, and gently stir to combine.
  5. Fill the pie crust: Pour the strawberry mixture into the crust, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake the pie: Bake for about 30-35 minutes until the filling bubbles and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Cool and chill: Let the pie cool for at least an hour, then refrigerate until completely chilled.
  8. Top with whipped cream just before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled, garnished with fresh strawberries or mint.
