Tiramisu Cups

Indulge in delightful Tiramisu Cups, a simplified twist on the classic Italian dessert featuring layers of creamy mascarpone, coffee-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup thickened cream (heavy whipping cream), cold (250ml)
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, cold (250g)
  • ¼ cup caster sugar (superfine sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 Savoiardi (ladyfinger biscuits)
  • ⅔ cup espresso (strong coffee), room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon liqueur, optional
  • ½ tablespoon cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, pour in the cold thickened cream. Grab an electric mixer and whip it on medium speed until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add Mascarpone: Gently fold in the cold mascarpone cheese, preserving the airy texture.
  3. Sweeten It Up: Add in the caster sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to fold until just combined.
  4. Prep the Coffee Mixture: Brew your espresso or strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature. Mix in the optional liqueur.
  5. Dip the Ladyfingers: Quickly dip the Savoiardi biscuits into the coffee mixture for a few seconds on each side.
  6. Layering Time: In your serving cups, start with a layer of the whipped mascarpone mixture, then add a layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by more mascarpone. Repeat and finish with a mascarpone layer on top.
  7. Chill: Cover your cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Final Touch: Dust with cocoa powder just before serving.
