The Best Cherry Crumble

A warm and comforting Cherry Crumble that perfectly captures the essence of summer.

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine your pitted cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  3. Toss everything gently until the cherries are well coated.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and the pinch of salt.
  5. Use your fingers or a fork to mix everything until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Pour the cherry filling into a greased 9-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the cherries.
  8. Place your dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes.
  9. Let your Cherry Crumble cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. This dish can also be made gluten-free by swapping all-purpose flour for gluten-free alternatives.
